Beyond Veronica banded in the spring of 2002 and have found their niche with a retro, power pop sound and sexy style to boot. Just when pioneering female rock 'n roll rebels such as The Runaways, Blondie and The Avengers seemed to be a thing of the past, front woman Bonnie Veronica took the reins and led her band into a resurgence of what was all but lost in the mainstream. This accomplished five-piece ensemble is decidedly distinctive in every aural arena.

All of us have our own unique styles, none of us follow a certain trend or anything but we wear what we like! We all love a good band t and jeans, and of course our favorite converse or vans. Our music is influenced by everything we see that sticks out to us. Our music is rock n roll with a chick twist, with hints of punk, alternative rock and metal.

Kissing Violet
Kissing Violet is Elia Saldaña and David Vaughn. Kissing Violet is here with a definite eye on fashion and rock in 2009. The band is fronted by Elia Saldana, a sexy female vocalist raised in Mexico, and rocking in Los Angeles with a hot yet adorable style all her own. Her partner in the duo of Kissing Violet is David Vaughn, the lyricist and keyboard playing producer, who is at home both on the stage rocking out and in the studio creating the vision. Together Elia and David have made a sound all their own with a blend of keyboards, guitars, electronics and lyric hooks that won't stop. Call it dark edgy pop, with a very sharp edge. Influences from Rihanna to David Bowie give the act a sound and presence that will rock the stage and runway for sure.
As for what the band might be listening to on their I-pods, it could be Rihanna, Nine Inch Nails, Green Day, Tori Amos, Depeche Mode, Bjork, Kelly Clarkson, Gwen Stefani, Muse, Radiohead, Seal, Timbaland, Joan Jett, Beethoven or Boston. The varied tastes of the duo are a big reason the album sounds the way it does.
Band members Elia Saldaña sings lead vocals and also contributes additional lyrics. She also has sung all her backgrounds and harmonies on this record. David Vaughn is the keyboard player, main lyricist and producer. He also plays the drums and synth bass on the record. Mixing and engineering are also a part of the experience that David contributes to the final product.

Magic City
Recently transplanted to NYC from Ohio and Italy, Magic City is a garage-rock band without a garage—but that’s not slowing ‘em down.
In the song “Raised by the Radio,” Karen sings, “If you wanna stand a chance, you better learn how to dance,” and with songs like these, Magic City will have rock’n’roll fans shaking their hips and singing along in no time.
Magic City met while stealing boxes of records from Elvis’s basement in Memphis. Or maybe they met at a monster movie marathon in Joey Ramone’s apartment in New York. Or maybe they were just drinking bad coffee at the dirty diner on the corner.
The details aren’t important.
What’s important is that Magic City knows how to rock’n’roll! With knee-high boots and hot riffs, slick suits and sweet guitar solos—Magic City has it, and you want it! So turn off the tv, turn up the radio and get ready for some rock’n’roll fun!
Dig it!
In addition to staying up late to play rock’n’roll concerts, Magic City recently recorded a couple of songs in Detroit with producer Jim Diamond, renowned for his work with garage-rockers such as the White Stripes, Dirtbombs and Compulsive Gamblers.

Petals
Petals is a garage pop-rock band out of Austin, Texas. Their sixties-inspired sound is a collaborative effort between sisters Brit and Stef Kagan. Their influences are broad, ranging from female fronted bands like Blondie, Fleetwood Mac and The Go-Gos. Curtis Thomas' rhythm guitar and Caitlin Blagrave's drumming come together to complete Petals' purpose of fusing past sounds of the greats with modern pop music.
Margaret Moser, long time music journalist for The Austin Chronicle, had this to say about their debut EP: "'He Loves Me Not' is packed with lessons learned from the Bangles, the Sundays, and a hint of the Breeders...There is so much substantial going on in the heads of these young women that belies their adorable baby faces."
The Kagan sisters' vocalizing is undeniably fun and fresh. This band has style and talent to boot, and their live show always exceeds the audience's highest expectations. It's time the world knew Petals.

Pike
Raging out of Cincinnati, Ohio, Pike was originally formed in the late
spring of 1995 by percussionist Holly Knepfle and guitarist/vocalist Kelley
Kombrinck. In 2002, Pike was reformed with the addition of
guitarist/vocalist Kelly Jarvis. 2003 brought a new project and
bassist Wade Weber onto the team. With this lineup, Pike headed out to
make waves in the Cincinnati music scene. In 2008, founding member Kelley
Kombrinck chose to leave the band for personal reasons. Not willing to
give up, they tapped guitarist Eric Bates to fill the void. Pike is
now working on new material and plans to start recording their new full-length
CD in the end of 2008.
Pike prefers to write their songs together in their practice space.
Their topics range from quitting their day jobs to the Texas Chainsaw
Massacre. Their influences are The Breeders, Nirvana, The Pixies, They
Might Be Giants, Primus, and King's X. With such diverse
rock influences, they have found that writing together is the best way to
solidify their sound while forging their own sonic signature. Their goal
is to continue making music they love and to hopefully be an inspiration
to their fans like their favorite bands have done for them.
